The Cottage
Glass double-doors lead to a patio area with outdoor furniture. Steps lead to the lawn and sea, while a small slipway affords access to a private pier
The ground floor is completely tiled, comprising a pine kitchen/dining area, complete with gas cooker, fridge and washing machine (a dryer is also available), a bedroom with bunk-beds and built-in wardrobe, a bathroom/toilet with electric power-shower, and a small clockroom/storage area.
The staircase to the upper floor was built totally from larch and pine by a local boatbuilder. It leads to a large lounge area and master bedroom with panoramic windows. Spend your day watching seals, otters and seabirds or the ever-changing tide. At night, watch the moon rise over the hills of Connemara and the wild Atlantic - you don't even have to get out of bed.
The cottage sleeps 4 (2 adults and 2 children). A cot is also available. All linen is supplied. Each room is individually heated with a convection heater and there is an oil-filled storage heater in the kitchen.
Also available, free of charge: telescope, barbecue, kayak, sailing dingy, life-vests, snorkels and masks, fishing rods, boat/engine on Lough Corrib, lobster and shrimp pots.
Pets are welcome (two max). As most pet-owners know, very few hotels, B&Bs or self-catering cottages allow pets. This is due to the extra cleaning costs involved and the irresponsibility of a small minority of dog-owners. So, in consideration of us animal-lovers who love to take our pets on holiday, please ensure your dogs are house-trained and well-behaved and, when leaving, that the cottage is clean and tidy.
